History
In 1992, Superstars Radio produced its
first Big Bargain Radio show in
Jacksonville, Florida. The concept was
to have sales reps get local, regional
and national companies to provide
merchandise and services in exchange
for ads, promotion and guaranteed
customers for their business. Since
there was NO CASH OUTLAY on the
merchant’s part, they loved it! And
the station’s listeners loved it too,
as they saved from 40 -90 % on things
they wanted and needed. These shows
were always done “live” on air, with a
host and co host, an engineer, and a
customer service person to collect the
money. (all sales in the old days had
to be consummated at the radio station
the same day as the purchase). The Big
Bargain concept prospered, and
Superstars installed Big Bargain shows
in various markets. Some were done
“live” and some were “automated”.
In the year
2000, Ray Mack came up with the idea
that you did not have to use valuable
radio station air time for the Big
Bargain Radio concept in a market.
With the advent of the internet, came
the idea that Big Bargain Radio
merchandise could be available on the
web, TARGETING HOMETOWN MEDIA USERS.
Also, in addition to radio stations,
Mack surmised that ANY MEDIA that
reached 100,000 or more users in a
week, could lure folks to THEIR
WEBSITE to purchase the Big Bargains.
